Job Type : Contract (6 months)
Compensation : $45-54/hr W2

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join a leading health insurance organization headquartered in Minnesota. This role is part of a centralized Employee Relations team that works closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and other strategic stakeholders. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective actions, position eliminations, complex leave and accommodation cases, health and safety concerns, and policy interpretation. You will also lead investigations and contribute to process improvements that enhance consistency and compliance across the organization. Job Description
As an Employee Relations Business Partner, you will:
  • Manage and advise on employee relations cases, including performance management, corrective actions, position eliminations, and complex leave/accommodation issues.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, including highly sensitive and complex cases, and prepare clear, comprehensive reports.
  • Apply knowledge of employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA) to assess risk and recommend solutions that balance compliance, business needs, and employee experience.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on restructuring and reorganization initiatives to ensure compliance and positive employee outcomes.
  • Support compliance programs such as EEO filings, affirmative action plans, and employment notices.
  • Identify training needs and assist in developing resources to improve understanding of policies and practices.
  • Use data to identify trends and inform policy and process decisions.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to less experienced team members and contribute to process enhancements.
This position operates with limited supervision and requires strong communication, influencing skills, and the ability to navigate complex workplace dynamics. Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 4–5 years of Human Resources experience, must have 2 years experience in a role focused on Employee Relations 
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and ability to apply them in workplace situations.
  • Proven ability to lead investigations and produce defensible reports.
  • Excellent consultative and interpersonal skills; ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to support business decisions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations.
Preferred:
  • Experience in medium to large organizations (500+ employees), ideally within matrixed environments.
  • Exposure to enterprise-level processes and cross-functional dynamics.
